Job Details
- Permanent Part-time, 3-5 days a week, 3 hours daily.
- $32.00 per hour.
- Reports to Hostel Managers.
- Location: 163 Fitzherbert Ave, Palmerston North 4410.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious and delicious evening meals for hostel residents, 3-5 days a week.
- Plan healthy weekly evening meal menus that cater to diverse dietary needs.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to.
- Adapt to changing schedules and dietary requirements as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall well-being of the hostel community.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, treating them with kindness and respect.
- Foster a sense of community through shared meals and communal dining experiences.

- Embrace and exemplify Christian values and character in daily interactions.
- Promote a positive and respectful environment in the kitchen and the hostel community.
- Be a role model for residents, encouraging spiritual growth and ethical behaviour.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook in a similar setting is preferred.
- Strong time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Working Hours
- 3-5 days a week; Monday, Tuesday, Friday; or Monday-Friday
- 3 hours per day (3pm-6pm).
- Working hours are flexible and can be negotiated based on the candidate’s availability.
