Terms and Conditions

A few Conditions apply to your stay with the Baptist Student Hostel, with some notable key points listed here. The full Conditions or Residence and Payment Schedule are provided in the Accommodation Contract sent to you after you apply. More information about life at the Hostel is available in the Information and Policy Booklet below.

  1. Unless otherwise agreed, the Accommodation Contract is for a full study year.
  2. Residents are liable for the full year’s fees which shall be paid as per the Payment Schedule.
  3. Applications may be withdrawn before the Withdrawal Date specified in the Accommodation Contract with liability limited the the Administration Fee.
  4. The following are prohibited on the Hostel premises or property: Firearms or weapons of any kind; Alcohol or drugs; Smoking or vaping; Flammable liquids, lighted candles, or fireworks; Pets.
  5. Residents agree to participate and contribute to the supportive and harmonious atmosphere of the Hostel, showing consideration towards other residents and neighbours, and to Hostel staff.
  6. Residents are expected to keep their rooms clean and tidy and be available for inspection or maintenance as required, and shall observe a quiet period from 10pm until 8am each day.
  7. Residents are expected to exercise a standard of reasonable care when using any Hostel property. All damage to Hostel property must be reported promptly to Hostel Management. The Hostel may require those responsible to pay the cost of repairs.
  8. Management will contact the emergency person in any situation where they have concerns about your safety or well-being.
  9. Residents must ensure their visitors adhere to Hostel rules at all times and accept responsibilities for their actions. Visitors are required to sign the visitors’ book on arrival and departure.
  10. No person other than the current Hostel residents may stay overnight without the express permission of the Hostel managers.
